The General Conference takes place in Macedonia this year. Last year more than 100 internships were exchanged with more than 45 countries. To get an idea of possible countries where internships took place last year, you can check the archive .  
 
     
     
 
B-form Start? 28/01/2012 Deadline? 17/02/2012 
 
     
 
You can only fill in the B-form if you filled in the A-form! To fill in the B-form you just log on to the Application System and you click on B-form.

You can now select the 3 internships that interest you the most. Here you add a motivation (for each internship) and this in English. Also do take in account the maximum amount of characters! You also upload your CV in English.

The languages are indicated with numbers. 1 indicates excellent, 2 indicates good, 3 indicates fair.

For requirements about the motivation letter and resume, check below at ’C-form’.

If you go on internship outside Europe, you can apply for an IAESTE scholarship. The amount of this scholarship is dependent on the amount of people applying for it. You cannot apply for the scholarship if you’ve applied for it once before. If you are accepted for a traineeship outside of Europe, you will get information on how to apply for the scholarship by mid-May. 		 
 
     
     
 
Nomination When? 27/02/2012 
 
     
 
The internships are divided by looking at your motivation and your CV and the results are made public in the end of February on the Nomination Evening.  
 
     
     
 
C-form Start? 28/02/2012 Deadline? 06/03/2012 
 
     
 
The day after the Nomination Evening the results come online. If you have been accepted for an internship, you can now fill in the C-form. For this you again have to log in.
In the C-form several forms have to be filled in:
  • a filled in "student nominated form"
  • CV (English) (recuperated from your B-form): please refer to Europass to make an adequate CV.,
  • 1 picture,
  • motivation letter: specific for your internship to your future employer. Be aware that the motivation can increase your chances for an internship and this motivation should be in a letter format (starting with Best/dear/Mr./Ms. and having a nice end). If any requirements are requested in the traineeship offer, please mention this in your letter to proof that you have the necessary knowledge
  • "transcript of records": this is a list (in English) of all courses you will have taken by the start of the traineeship. Please only mention your grades when they are good.
  • certificate of enrollment from your university (UGent-students can download this from OASIS)
  • for architecture offer: a portfolio of your work
  • If possible a recommendation letter from one of your professors or previous traineeship mentors (this will increase your chances of getting accepted)
  • copy of your passport and/or identity card
  • Proof of payment


To take in account the administration costs a fee of €125/€60 (scholarship student) is charged. We also ask a warranty of €20. This warranty is given back in September if you write a report about your adventures on your internship (or if the internship is cancelled). The total amount of € 145 / € 80 has to be paid to BE28 7330 0289 9320, BIC: KRED BE BB.

The administration costs of € 125 / € 60 are only paid back in the following cases and with approval of IAESTE Belgium:
  • the student is not accepted by the employer
  • the employer cancels the internship
  • the specifications of the internship are changed
  • exams to redo during summer

D-form When? 24/05/2012 
 
     
 
The last step in the application procedure is the confirmation of the company, the D-form. This confirmation should be expected until end of May. Here a form, the N5b form, is included which you have to sign. This is the final confirmation for your internship. You can now also fill in the necessary insurance forms and the forms to acknowledge your internship for credits (3 or 6, depending on the duration of your internship.

If you wish to cancel your application, you need to do this in writing (e-mail to belgium@iaeste.org), mentioning the reference number if the traineeship and the reason for withdrawal.
